Not yet roadworthy, so we had it towed to a garage in Enfield. It took the four of us and two burly eastern european mechanics five minutes of pushing it around an estate car park to get the engine going - clouds of dark smoke billowing out of the back, but it's a start. As one mechanic reversed the thing, lurching, into the shed, the other proclaimed in a thick ex-bloc accent "THIS, IS A BATTYBOY CAR!". I was laughing so hard there were tears rolling out of my eyes. It was a strange day.

With staff like that, we expect it'll be on the road for the weekend. Godspeed, little Golf.
