Well, THAT puts rather a damper on my weekend

So after spending a lovely evening at a friend's DJ gig in Downtown Oakland, we come out to find a riot happening on the corner (14th & Franklin). I had parked my car around the corner on Broadway. I mean, hey, it's a busy, well-lighted street with lots of Oakland Police and Sheriff's patrol cars going by all the time, it should be all right there. Right?
Not so much, as it turns out. I got to the car and started to get inside when I noticed a big SMASH in my windshield. I am grateful for a couple of the small graces I was granted:
1. That my friends Gary and Tim were with me; and
2. That it was mostly confined to the passenger side of the windshield, so it was drivable and I was able to get Gary and Tim (and myself) safely home.
Although there is a pretty well-defined hand print on the passenger door window, I'm guessing someone jumped on the hood of my car and put their heel through the windshield because this morning I can see a couple of shoe prints on the hood.
However it happened, it was a deliberate act of vandalism and God help the douche bag that did this if I ever find him. (How do I know it's a him? Well, pretty much every female in the area last night was wearing heels (the higher, the better) and the marks on my car are definitely sneakers, which was what a lot of the guys in the area were wearing.)
So I get to spend this week trying to get a new windshield--and figuring out where the money for THAT is going to come from.
Fuckers.
