Darth Citroen
Rich007 posted a photo:

Okay, is it me, or has anybody else noticed how the front of a Citroen CX looks just a bit like an elongated and wheeled version of Darth Vader's visor? It's almost like George Lucas in the mid-1970s was seeking inspiration for something truly sinister-looking just as a certain sleek Hydropneamatic French car happened to glide past him...
Right, note to self: STOP watching Star Wars late at night! It's not doing my mental clarity any good whatsoever...

Citroen CX: C'est demon!

HIGHEST FLICKR EXPLORE RANKING: 207
So, there's a story behind this one. 'Citroen CX: C'est demon' was the title of of an advertising campaign for the CX in its native France during the 1970s, one that always struck me as rather a daring one, since it would no doubt have put off any customers with religious leanings. And it could probably never be done today. Can you imagine 'The new Ford Focus: Satan's chariot upon the Earth with easy finance terms' or 'BMW: A new form of evil is among us'? Actually, the latter possibly isn't very far from the truth...
Anyway, after a few months of my CX here being sporadically temperamental - well, it is a Hydropneamatic Citroen after all, it's what they do - this long Easter weekend was the first opportunity I'd had to finally put some effort into fettling it. Finally, after a couple of days fiddling and polishing, I finally got the CX running and looking like a big classic Citroen should.
Then I headed off to the local main station to meet a friend who was changing trains there and so had a brief stopover in Peterborough. Bursting with pride at a) having actually got the bloody thing running properly, and b) how great it looked after being scrubbed clean to within an inch of its life, I led her to where it was parked outside the station to show it off to her. "Doesn't it look good?" I asked. "Well, sort of," she replied. "But it's still an inherently evil looking car!"
C'est demon indeed...

Afternoon of the strange shadows
Rich007 posted a photo:

My freshly polished black Citroen CX, and its bizarre, almost 2CV-ish shadow, caused by the low afternoon sun. Well, at least the silhouette is still classic Citroen. It would have been a little disturbing if it had looked like a BMW. Horrifying, in fact...
